Setting a Schedule of Events through the Summer - 2014

So, the assessments now being out of the way, and after having enjoyed a bijou sojourn to Monacco, I'm back in the driving seat... (small pun intended, having just seen a wonderful bi-annual 9th event of "The Historic Grand Prix de Monaco"...)

My first task is to create a robust plan of how and when I will complete the tasks set out in my first post of my Summer Blog (i.e. That was the "what" part).

I'm feeling a little nervous that I might of aimed rather high at what I want to achieve, but I realise, the Summer Projects are really a first "safe" type of step towards what I will actually be "doing" as a professional artist in future.  Therefore, this time is actually really useful for lots of reasons, - in particular, our development towards having a regular work ethic, understanding the importance of "research" time in our chosen themes, and also, giving ourselves a better understanding of managing our own time as future artists.

So, I better get cracking!...

Like any new venture, my rough plan is probably best formulated by looking at what deadlines there are, then working backwards on the time line to incorporate the neccessary steps to get to that point.  A good plan will also point out whether or not the objectives are achievable within the time frame set, the budget (if there is one), and the quality expectations of the outcomes... (in this case, I am not actually doing the work for another client per-se, the client is me!  - However, it would be nice to think that whatever outcomes I have from these project tasks, could be re-usable elsewhere / when-ever, so a level of "quality" needs to be considered at each step, even the more abstract tasks. - For example, Gallary visits need some form of record / notes & opinions taken, etc).

First Task Selection;
My list of objectives and strategies from my previous blog showed a number of items in no particular order.  I need to create some form of prioritisation of these in order to make a schedule plan.

-  As the Gallery visits will be taking place throughout the summer, and incorporate various train journeys and use of public transport, the first thing I need to do is work out when the most beneficial visiting times, - i.e. make my trips co-incide with exhibitions of particular interest, try to combine visits with other activities and events going on near-by, - and so on.   So a notional starting place would be for me to list the Gallerries I wish to visit, then explore and research what events they are holding in the coming months.  For this, the best source of information is at hand, - through the internet....
